I thought this was a cute idea so here goes a few things that are from Today.
TODAY:I finally wrote a Psych paper I've been putting off for 3 weeks. In one afternoon I did the research and wrote the entire 2100 word APA research paper on how my developmental theories align with that of the crossover theorist Albert Bandura. (what can I say I have always done my best work under pressure)
TODAY:I baked a batch of Chris's favorite snickerdoodle cookies with the kids.
TODAY:I had my visiting teachers come over. They are lovely and so nice. I really appreciate them and their time and the lessons they share. I'm thankful for the church and all the ways they enrich our lives.
TODAY:Is kind of a boring day for TV
TODAY:All 3 of my kids were up by 7:30 (usually they sleep in till 9ish)
TODAY:Is surprisingly cold for Texas...I guess it is "winter"
TODAY:I'm really missing my friends in Utah
TODAY:I'm excited about dinner (BBQ sandwhiches)
TODAY:I found the bed spread I wanna buy but can't
TODAY:I really feel like calling my mom and shooting the breeze
TODAY:I've been trying to get caught up on my blogging
TODAY:Kicks off the last week of my Psych class!
TODAY:I started planning what I wanna get Chris for Valentine's Day

TODAY:I played with the kids for a while and just thought about how lucky I am to have a wonderful, happy, loving family and friends.

This is just my fun blog where I share my ideas, thoughts, and projects I'm a little all over the place so bare with me. Make it happy actually comes from my 3yr old son. One day he was unhappy having a hard day and he looked up at me and said "mommy I'm going to make it happy." It sort of became our family motto.

What needs tweaking?
I'm the kind of person who thinks that you should constantly be learning, and improving yourself and your life. Nothing's perfect and I know I'm far from it. Anyway I decided that every month I'm going to focus on something in my life that I want to improve or tweak.

What to Wear?
I try to keep up on the latest fashions and buy a few things here and there to "stay in style" for me the key is to be classic and sophisticated, to get out of the mom rut, but to stay a little trendy.
Fall Fashions (2009)
Here are the new fall fashions pick and choose what works for you...remember with trendy items less is always better especially the older you get.
There's an edge to fashion this fall, while sophistication begins to sparkle, shine and get just a little bit rocker.
What's hot this season?
Staples for fall:
Lace, Leather and Denim
Bohemian chic
Colors: Rose, Olive, Blues
Vests
You'll see lots of faux fur collars and animal skin fabrics, as the tribal trend appears to be here to stay. But that's not all – there will be a lot of tailored, contemporary looks.
Skinny jeans
Skinny jeans have been hot for several seasons now, but now skinny pants are big as well. You'll continue to see leggings and tights. It's part of a trend leaning toward sleek, slim and streamlined.
Pleated tops
I love this trend because it's GREAT for us girls who don't have a lot going on up there – but it works for those of you who do, too. The accordion pleat neckline is feminine, new and pretty much universally flattering.
Military jackets
We can blame it on Michael Jackson tributes, but it was actually on the way back before he passed. The military look – jackets, vests, even pants – is a huge fall wardrobe staple. My personal favorite shopping destination, Loehmanns, says they are noticing several distinct looks from their top designers this fall:
Rocker chic
This style is powerful, with sophisticated polish: acid wash, leather, studs and similar embellishment.
Sparkle and shine
Opulent and edgy details for day or evening; look for tons of metallic, sequins and gunmetal gray.
Statement accessories
Statement accessories will be all the rage, with embellished shoes, boots of all heights with thigh high becoming key, statement necklaces, eye-catching gloves, scarves, hobo and other relaxed bags taking the forefront.
Loads of color
Look for everything from black and white combinations, to hot pinks and cobalt blues, to cognacs and chocolate browns and plums and raspberry.

Fall In Love With Your Husband...a list of ideas for date night, or to just fall in love agian.
- Get involved in something he thinks is cool. I joined Chris's college fantasy pick em group. He thought that was so cool and we watch the games together on Saturday and root for our teams it's a little playful rivalry. But he likes that I'm involved in something he's involved with.
- Do something he likes to do go to a football game, a concert, golfing, fishing whatever he'll love it!
- Go get pictures taken of just the two of you like you did for your engagement pictures.
- Recreate your first date.
- Make a mixed playlist (or CD) and add it to his MP3 labeled something cute like I love you, or you rock my world!
- Go on a romantic picnic in the park.
- Weekend getaways for no reason. With out the kiddos of course.
- Flirt!
- Write little love notes back and forth for a week like you did in high school and leave them in strategic places. Like his pillow, his shoe, his wallet, the visor in his car be creative!

Halloween Fun
The kids and I made these cute bats for the house. They were really easy and fun to make.
Family Home Evening
So Chris and I decided that it was time to start having Family Home Evening with our kids we hadn't done it before because they were so little we didn't think that they would even know what was going on, but Carson's 3 now and he's starting to get it. We also decided as they always say that if you start young then it becomes habit and the norm and they'll start to get it sooner. So we decided to throw FHE into the weekly scheduale mix. It's been a couple of months now and it's been great! The kids love it, and they are learning a lot more than I thought they would. Not to mention that having Family Home Evening on Monday's has really kicked our week of to a great start! Since the kids are young we try to keep our lessons short, sweet and fun, and every now and then we mix it up with just doing something fun together as a family. Anyways you're welcome to some of my ideas.

IDEAS:
General Bible and Book of Mormon stories.
-I try to tell the story with a game, or a fun interactive story board. For example I did the story of Noah and the ark, I wrote out a kids appropriate story and had an Ark with Noah and his family and had all the animals. All the pieces the kids could add to the story board as we went along.
Morals and lessons
-Every now and then I throw in a lesson that deals with morals or lessons for life that I think the kids need to learn or work on. For example I had a lesson on different behaviors. I had two faces a mommy and a daddy with removable mouths. One mouth was happy and one was sad. I had a basket filled with behaviors written on strips of paper, they'd pick one out we'd read it and they would decide if the behavior if acted out would make mommy/daddy happy or sad. I( had things like sharing, or fighting) and then they would put the mouth on the face corresponding to what they thought. They had a lot of fun with this one and they still refer to it when they do certain things.
-Another example is that we had a lesson on prayer. Why we pray, how we pray, who we are praying to. We practiced all of this and it was a good lesson. Since then the kids have wanted to say all the prayers and they are getting really good at praying on their own. It's really cute.
-We had a lesson on Heavenly Father and who he is, and how he created the world and everything in it. I had a bag filled with lots of random things they would pull out and we'd talk about what it was and how Heavenly Father created it, and all our many blessings.
Fun
-Every now and then we like to just have a family home evening where we just do something fun as a family. We play a board game or watch a movie, or we'll just hang out sing songs, and read stories, or play Wii. It's fun we enjoy it and we like to mix things up. The kids are young and we don't want to over whelm them with lessons all the time.

I love it. I guess I should get cracking on Jess' Valentine's Day. Our Anniversary is in March and we are going to San Antonio for 4 or 5 days so maybe I'll make it V-Day/ Anniversary :)!!! Is that cheating on Holidays?
No that's awesome! We've been wanting to get back to San Antonio...we had so much fun when we went there last summer! Have fun!
